Deprecated API's - what to do then?
Hello guys,
I am relatively new with WHM / Cpanel and need to develop a simple application in PHP to achieve some basic stuff.
Looking into the Cpanel SDK documentation I see mostly this message:
cPanel API 1 is deprecated. We strongly recommend that you do not use cPanel API 1. However, no equivalent function exists in our newer APIs.
What should I do in this case. Is the use of the deprecated API's really discouraged or not supported? How can I then achieve my goals?
Any advise will be highly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Darma

In the case that there's no equivalent function in Api2 or UAPI, unfortunately the only choice is to use Api1. We still have a lot of code using Api1, as it's very labor intensive to add new UAPI calls and remove the old Api1 call sites. As we add new UAPI calls, we are updating the documentation to direct people from the Api1 / Api2 page for a given call, to the UAPI equivalent. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you David, this is what I needed to know. Is there a way to be notified when updates are being added ? 0 -
