How to manually backup cpanel account
Hello there,
Unfortunately my server has a failing hard-drive and back-ups are not working.
Backups are creating empty files or throwing out errors. This never happened until the hard drive starting playing up.
I've tried running back-ups from the command line without success.
A typical error from my logs:
ERROR: tar process 11502 exited with status 2: b_find(): /backup/2015-09-08/accounts/XXX: No such file or directory at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/IO/Tarball.pm line 198.
I have already zipped and download the public_html folder, so that's not required.
What I do need is the account configuration such as the add-on domains, email accounts, mail folders and cron jobs.
I don't want to start from scratch and add everything on a fresh install.
Is there a way to achieve this?
I know for the mail folders you can simply download them, however the folders and files inside my mail folders seem different than tutorials.
Only a few email accounts are listed in my mail folders and I have large number of folders with names such as ".sales.cur.1417716717_H916462P31039_XXX_XXXXXX_com,S=20234:2,S"
Because of this, something tells me zipping my mail folder and copying to a fresh account wouldn't work like the tutorials suggest?
Many thanks for your help.

If it was me I'd make sure I've got good copies of the largest of the files, delete them off the account and try backing up a much smaller account instead just to see if it works. Can you backup a smaller account on the same server ok, does that finish? 0 -

Good idea, I'll give it a try now. Yes 5 other accounts (all small) have backed up successfully.0
