Automatic backup fail to overwrite previous backup file
Hi everyone :),
I have enabled automatic (cron jobs) backup on my server Monday to Sunday, but every Monday at +02H00 AM it fails to overwrite Sunday's backup.
Can you please assist me in this matter. What's the cause of this and how to solve it?
Thank you.
The attached screenshot is for message I #58734946 receive from cpanel.

The error message received above states that your CPU usage has been at 100% for more than 6 hours. This is bad. I suggest looking in to why that is asap. Also, have you configured backups properly in WHM to specify how many previous backups to keep? 0 -
Hello :) You can browse to the "Stats and Logs" tab in "WHM Home " Server Configuration " Tweak Settings" and modify the following option: "Extra CPUs for server load" Per it's description: The load average above the number of CPUs at which cpuwatch, cpanellogd, backups, and CPU stats consider the system to be in a critical load state. For example, a server with 4 physical CPUs and a value of 2 in this field will be considered "critical" in these cases once the load reaches 6. Thus, you can ensure backup generations continue when the load reaches a certain point, if you are okay with a server load that high. Thank you. 0 -
Hello :), Yes, I configured backup to run daily (Monday to Sunday) and retain 1 daily backup. In "Extra CPUs for server load" the default is zero, I have 4 CPUs in my server. If I change the value to 2 in "Extra CPU for server load", What effect/change will it have on server since I have 4 CPUs? I'm not okay with high server load. Thank you. 0 -

Hello :) It would allow backups to run if your server load remained at six or lower. The following thread is helpful if it's the server load itself you want to address: Troubleshooting High Loads On Linux Servers Thank you.0 -
