Reseller SSL SMTP Address
Anyone knows if cpanel is capable of setting up smtp over SSL using reseller smtp address for its clients when a reseller is assigned a dedicated ip address and its client is assigned by reseller's dedicated ip as shared ip
Currently, it is the server root smtp ssl address showing in the manual setup instruction. That does not seem right if providing white label reseller accounts.
Anyone who can help is appreciated.

I might of given you the wrong info actually, I just tested this and when installing an SSL it does indeed show the SSL host as the SMTP host when going to Configure Email Client in that cPanel account. You would obviously need to install an SSL on that account however. 0 -
Thank you for your reply. I know what you meant. But there is something wrong at the setting and it will affect how the SPF, DNS will be setup and detect the problem is that 1. reseller has a dedicated ip 2. reseller installed the ssl for its reseller.domain.com 3. reseller's client manual setting is showing to use server root incoming/outgoing smtp as root.domain.com The manual setting should at least show the reseller's ip to its own client because at the file server level, it is mapping clients domain to use reseller.domain.com as its helo mail server....this is too confusing....why not just allow reseller to have the ability to change the manual setting instead of relying on the script to detect.... 0 -
Ah true, yeah I see what you're saying, this would be probably be a good feature request to start. 0 -
Hello :) Here's the latest staff response to that thread: Currently, the next item on our TODO list for the email client configurations is to move them to the main index page of the Webmail Interface (where you chose the default webmail client) as well as dramatically simplify them so that customers aren't as overwhelmed. This could include promoting the installation scripts/profiles much more heavily as they really do make email client setups dramatically easier. Making them configurable, or adding a UI Include point so that you could put any content you'd like on the webmail index page, is a reasonable thing to do that that time. Thank you for the idea!
Thank you.0
