We just got it working this morning. Still not really sure what it was. One of my server techs was using the same software and didn't have a problem but he made some tweak on the server and it all started working again. And no, I don't know exactly what he did either. The whole thing was really weird.

I am happy to see the issue is now resolved. It's likely firewall rules that were blocking passive FTP connections. Thank you.

No, it wasn't - cause someone could manage with the same software.

It's very possible that it was another cause, but that's the most common reason for compatibility issues with certain FTP clients (some clients force the use of passive mode) for any other users who visit this thread and experience the same problem. In any event, I am happy to see the issue is no longer occurring. Let us know if you encounter any additional issues. Thank you.

I'm seeing this same issue with version 12.4 of WS_FTP Professional. Start with the latest update. First on one server, then when it updated, the other. The problem exists with FTP/SSL [AUTH SSL] version. Using passive, even forcing passive, does not work at all. Other FTP programs (Goodsync, PHPEd & Dreamweaver) seem to work fine. WS_FTP will work in SFTP/SSH mode with a keypair. Obviously passive transfers still work, I verified my passive range and firewall settings, plus other programs still work fine. Log says this in WS_FTP:

After that, since no bytes were transferred, it just disconnects.

Hello :) This is likely related to the issue discussed in: Pure-Ftpd Not Working on cPanel 11.52 Thank you.
