mySQL 5.7 support

We tried installing mySQL 5.7 and learned it's not / not yet compatible with cPanel. Is this correct and are there workarounds available to get it work right now? Thanks for clarifying Phil

  Hello :) MySQL 5.7 is not yet supported, and there are no available workarounds that will allow you to install a supported instance of it. Feel free to vote and add your feedback to the existing feature request at: Add support for MySQL 5.7 Thank you.
