    I see the same 3 (on 2 different servers I checked) when I search the log for: module not installed [2015-10-19 16:12:54 -0400] Processing: Updating Apache SpamAssassin" rules [2015-10-19 16:12:54 -0400] - Processing command `/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/sa-update_wrapper` [2015-10-19 16:12:55 -0400] [25191]

  • Running sa-update (/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/perl/514/bin/sa-update)..... [2015-10-19 16:12:55 -0400] [25191]

  • The warnings related to them can be safely ignored.
I can't properly answer you re: Net::CIDR::Lite other than to say I don't have it loaded either. More Info: Net::CIDR::Lite - search.cpan.org

Thanks for confirming that I'm not the only one seeing this condition. Does anyone have information that might help us answer if this is something we need to be concerned with? Is it okay that Net::CIDR::Lite is not being loaded by SpamAssassin?

Hello :) Could you verify if the issue continues on cPanel version 11.52.0.18 or later? It's possible this is resolved by the following case: Fixed case CPANEL-1942: Clean up previous bad SpamAssassin updates. Thank you.

Hi Michael, Thanks for checking in on this thread. I just checked this morning's maintenance log from the relevant cPanel server, now running 11.52.0.20, and the line about 'Net::CIDR::Lite' not loading is in it. Unfortunately the case you reference doesn't appear to have changed this condition. Thanks for your help. Cheers, Jason

Does the issue persist if you manually install that module? EX:
    /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/perlinstaller Net::CIDR::Lite
    Thank you.

While I was able to manually install the Net::CIDR::Lite module using cpan, without any errors, it did not resolve this issue reported via the cPanel daily maintenance log file I receive via email. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks for your help. Jason

I had a similar issue to this, my understanding from my own ticket response from cpanel is that cpan -i Net::CIDR::Lite is not the way to go - but correct me if I am mistaken :) I was asked to doinstall it like this: /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/perlinstaller Net::CIDR::Lite

Yes, please let us know if the issue persists after utilizing the "/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/perlinstaller Net::CIDR::Lite" command. Thank you.

While the perlinstaller script gave output indicating that it successfully installed the Net::CIDR::Lite module this action did not change the output in the maintenance log that started this thread. Could the command(s) in the maintenance process script to install/update this particular module have an error in them?

Could you open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you.

Just to note seeing the same thing here. Installed three modules that had failed: IO::Socket::IP Net::CIDR::Lite Net::Patricia Running: /scripts/upcp --force ...gives same errors after running the installer so it seems the issue is still present. Not sure if related but we're seeing this at the same time as we're noticing increase zombie processes for whostmgrd and cpsrvd (SSL) but that could be something else completely. FYI: [LIST]

Thanks for adding to this thread websnail. As suggested by cPanel staff I opened a ticket, number 7389267, and Kevin Mitsch responded with: Regarding the Net::CIDR::Lite error: I believe this module has been recently included in SpamAssassin but is not currently being used by cPanel's implementation. There are a couple other modules like this that will generate an error, but can be safely ignored. If you review the update logs you can see the other module errors explained with the following: [2015-11-19 01:00:22 +0000] [3089]
  • Please note that 'IO::Socket::IP' and 'Net::Patricia' are not needed by our implementation of SpamAssassin. [2015-11-19 01:00:22 +0000] [3089]
  • The warnings related to them can be safely ignored. I see the error on a test server that I checked as well, and as it doesn't seem to be generating any problems or errors elsewhere, I am fairly confident that this can be ignored.
This response from Kevin prompted me to ignore the fact that the 'Net::CIDR::Lite' is not loading, similar to ignoring the 'IO::Socket::IP' and 'Net::Patricia' module load failures. Cheers, Jason

That's likely unrelated, as the issue here is about the warning message itself, which you can ignore:

    Thank you.
