SMTP not working

I got some emails suggesting I tighten up some things for security...email from cpanel security. So I did but now smpt is not working in WHMCS. I have tried a few things but no good. And I deleted the orig email from my cpanel so can't remember what was done. Error in WHMCS hwne trying to send email is.... Email Sending Failed - SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Email Queue Processing Completed If I change to using php for email it sends fine

  Hello :) Check to see if "WHM Home " Security Center " SMTP Restrictions" is enabled and if so, see if disabling it resolves the issue. Thank you.
