Does cpanel need UDP Port 21 for inbound?
I get confused about what UDP ports needed by cpanel for incoming. The cpanel default iptables rules on CentOS only allow incoming UDP port 53, but CSF firewall opens 20,21,53 by default. I did a Google search for what incoming ports does cpanel use, most of the articles said cpanel use UDP Port 21,53. So, does cpanel use UDP Port 21?
Thank you.

FTP uses ports 20 and 21 over TCP only. UDP is for TFTP. My only UDP port open is 53, and my box has no issue. 0 -

Thanks for the info. According to Wikipedia, the TFTP use UDP port 69 instead of 21. TFTP uses UDP as its transport protocol. A transfer request is always initiated targeting port 690 -
Hello :) Note that you may need to open port 21 for outbound FTP if you plan to store backups on remote FTP servers. This document may also help: How to Configure Your Firewall for cPanel & WHM's Services - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0
