changing mail default path
Hi there!
Im hosting email service at bluehost.com, the thing is. The mail folder size limit is (30gb) and it's 90% full so we purchased more storage (60gb) so i need to.change the default mail storage route from
/home/securka4/mail <- 30gb
To
/home/securka4/Mail <- 60gb
The cpanel access is very limited so I'm connecting via ssh so far what I've researched I need to:
Set the mail_location in conf.d/10-mail.conf as determined by the instructions in FindMailLocation.
My question is... is my approach correct?
I need to be 100% sure it will work to make the switch because the email service needs to be running all day, meaning I can't interrupt the service if I screw up.

I'd mount the 60GB in /home/securka4/mail instead, but I think you'd have a little downtime as you copied the data to a temp mount and re mounted it in the right place. Perhaps someone with more WHM experience will have a more elegant solution. 0 -
ok so what i did was, 1 rsync'ed both folders 2 unmount /home/securka4/Mail <- 60gb 3 mount /home/securka4/mail <- 30gb on /home/securka4/Mail 4 mounted the 60gb drive on to /home/securka4/mail And that pretty much did it, thank you though I thought about that approach and tried it once, but i did it through cpanel and didn"t worked so entering through ssh did it 0 -
