Email not sending or Receiving
I have a rather clean install of Cpanel on CentOS 6.7 running on a VMware VM. Most of the settings are default, I have only tweaked the settings of things that I am familiar with.
When I send an email either incoming or outgoing, I get an error a few days later stating delivery failure. I am regretfully using Optimum DynDNS Service to forward my domain to my IP Address.
I have the following subdomains going through DynDNS to my IP
srv1. (Other Server - Unrelated)
webmail.
cpanel.
whm.
www.
cps. (hostname)
mail.
I have Port 80 and 25 turned on on my Modem, and i have the following ports open on my router pointing to the Cpanel Server (should be more than enough)
6. cps whm 2087
7. cps cpanel 2083
8. cps ftp 20-21
9. cps http 80
10. cps webmail 2095
11. cps Imap 143
12. cps Imap SSL 993
13. cps POP 110
14. cps POP SSL 995
15. cps SMTP 25
16. cps SMTP SSL 465
18 cps SSL 443
My only Thoughts could be it must be software side I have looked at many forums and cannot seem to find the cause of my problem anywhere. Any Help / Suggestions would be more than appreciated.

Hello :) What's the specific delivery failure message that you receive? Do you notice any entries in /var/log/exim_mainlog related to the failure? Thank you. 0 -

Please use a command such as "exigrep user@domain /var/log/exim_mainlog" to obtain the output in /var/log/exim_mainlog that matches up to the error message. Thank you. 0 -

Hello, Is this issue isolated to Google? You can verify if connections are rejected with a command such as: telnet alt4.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com 25
If so, check to ensure there are no firewall rules on your system blocking access to Google. It's also possible that Google is blocking connections from your server, or that all outgoing connections over port 25 on your system are failing due to your provider blocking the port. Thank you.0 -
I have Port 80 and 25 turned on on my Modem, and i have the following ports open on my router pointing to the Cpanel Server (should be more than enough) 6. cps whm 2087 7. cps cpanel 2083 8. cps ftp 20-21 9. cps http 80 10. cps webmail 2095 11. cps Imap 143 12. cps Imap SSL 993 13. cps POP 110 14. cps POP SSL 995 15. cps SMTP 25 16. cps SMTP SSL 465 18 cps SSL 443

Yes, even though you have opened the ports in your firewall and router, it's still possible that your ISP has blocked outgoing connections over port 25. Please report this issue to your ISP or hosting provider and have them open port 25 (assuming it happens when testing any remote mail server). Thank you. 0 -
Thank you, I toggled port 25 on my modem, and after the reboot, my incoming messages go through, but any outgoing messages are still being held up for some reason, It's been about 11 hours and no messages that I sent out from the server have arrived at their destination, nor have i received a mailman error receipt. 0 -
I toggled port 25 on my modem, and after the reboot, my incoming messages go through, but any outgoing messages are still being held up for some reason,
Is there any change to the output of the "telnet" command? If not, you still need to contact your hosting provider or ISP to report the issue. Thank you.0 -
Yes, I can successfully telnet into google [~]# telnet alt4.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com 25 Trying 173.194.65.27... Connected to alt4.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com. Escape character is '^]'. 220 mx.google.com ESMTP x11si18908190wju.95 - gsmtp0 -
Also, to confirm, you are running that command from your server, and messages to Google are failing at this time? Thank you. 0 -
yes, I am logged into my server running that command via ssh, messages from google to the server work, but messages from the server to google don't go through, I haven't received an error email from the server saying that the message was undeliverable, it just hasn't gone through as of yesterday evening. 0 -
I haven't received an error email from the server saying that the message was undeliverable, it just hasn't gone through as of yesterday evening.
Is this only happening with Google at this point, or with any remote mail server? You may need to consult with Google directly if there's no bounce: Troubleshooting for bulk email senders - Gmail Help Thank you.0 -
Ah, I see, All of my server notifications and messages have been marked as spam. Thank you very much. 0 -
I am happy to see you were able to determine the cause of the problem. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0
