Cannot Route NAT
Hello,
First time post so I hope I can explain my issue.
We have a legacy cPanel Server (EOL CentOS 5); we built a new server with a different NAT IP than the original. Our plan is to transfer the accounts from the Old server to the New server. We have successfully transferred all of the accounts that do not have dedicated IP's. We just attempted to move the first account with a dedicated IP; These are the steps that I took:
1. On the old server - I changed the accounts dedicated IP to the shared ip,
2. I deleted the dedicated IP (10.1.2.3) from the Old Server,
3. I added the dedicated IP (10.1.2.3) to the new server
4. I changed the account's IP to the dedicated IP (10.1.2.3)
5. Pinged the Public IP, Dedicated IP and the domain name - all failed.
6. I pinged the dedicated IP from the Old server and the New server successfully.
7. I cannot validate the new dedicated IP within cPanel.
8. I checked the /etc/ips and the IP is listed correctly
9. I ran the /scripts/build_cpnat command - The main IP routes correctly but the dedicated IP is unable to map
10. I also ran service ipaliases restart on both servers successfully.
I assume that I am missing something but cannot determine what it is. Again, I can ping the dedicated IP from both servers but cannot from a cmd (I am vnc into the NAT network)
The firewall and NAT routing has not changed - I pinged the NAT IP (10.1.2.3) from my desktop prior to removing it from the old server.
I would love to hear some suggestions or what I have done wrong.
Cheers
Keith

Hello :) You mentioned the firewall rules have not changed. Does the issue persist if you temporarily disable the firewall rules? Thank you. 0
