Website content manager is getting an 'Failed to write file to disk' error when trying to upload new content.

Hello :) Your access level is listed as "Website Owner". Do you have root access to this system? If not, are you able to consult with your web hosting provider to report this issue. The error message often indicates a lack of available disk space or inodes, which can lead to numerous account problems. Thank you.

We have a no-support agreement with our host. I'm hoping that the old website is causing all the issues, and finally removing will fix them all - including disk space. I deleted the old website via Filemanager. The old website was developed in Frontpage. Could there be an add on that I haven't removed?

It's difficult to pinpoint the exact reason for the error message without root access to the system. Your hosting provider should be able to review the available disk space and inodes, as that's more of a server issue instead of an issue with your particular account. Thank you.

What does this mean, exactly? I'm curious enough to ask.

They provide hosting, but no support - except for critical stuff. So, for this issue it's not deemed 'critical' so no support.

I did a bit more digging, and found that there is a mail account full of spam using 215MB. The sites quota is 512MB and Disk Used is 367MB, including the mailbox. I've cleared out the mailbox and set some purging rules, and Disk Used is now down to 153MB. But, still no joy in Wordpress. Still get 'Download failed. Failed to write request to temporary file.' when trying to apply a single theme or plugin update. I've backed up the site, and considering removing and starting again. Any advise otherwise?

It has also been suggested to remove the FrontPage extension. I found these instructions, but don't see 'FrontPage extension' under Advanced in CPanel. How to Remove FrontPage Extensions in Cpanel - InMotion Hosting Could this have something to do with the old site still being visible?

What about the cache folders in FileManager - can I safely empty them? like //home/cache
