Disk Usage Question
Hi all :)
One of our servers has generated a warning for :
/dev/mapper/vg_server-lv_home 86% full
But /dev/mapper/vg_server-lv_root is only 46% full.
I am unsure of the relationship between these two directories? Is there anyway of assigning more space to /dev/mapper/vg_server-lv_home?
I know this directory is for the accounts, so what is the /dev/mapper/vg_server-lv_root for please?
I could just put bigger hard drives in, but I don't want to just do that without understanding why one partition is nearly full and the other isnt. For exmaple, where are all the server logs stored?

without knowing your exact layout but just guessing from the names /dev/mapper/vg_server-lv_home is your home partition where your cpanel users files are stored /dev/mapper/vg_server-lv_root is your / partition OS so the store very different things 0 -

Hello :) The following document is a good place to start when attempting to determine what's taking up your disk space: How to Manage your Hard Drive Space - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you.0
