Need to back up a very large cPanel account
I am new on forums, but not new to cPanel, have worked on cpanel servers for almost 10 years then got a break for 3 ears.
anyways
I need to backup a large 110GB folder. residing on /home2/user/folder/
the folder is under a cpanel username but full cPanel backup is not needed.
I want to make a backup which is split into 5GB tarballs.
Also i need this backup to get generated on /backup/new12/
Many thanks in advance
I hope I would be able to help the newbies here and still learn a lot from cPanel.

Hello :) This type of manual backup is not supported through cPanel, but the following third-party URL explains how to do it: Create a tar archive split into blocks of a maximum size Thank you. 0 -
sorry about late reply, but I think my plan to backup such account can work with above suggestion along with some manual backups. I plan to tar the largest folder in 5GB multi-tarballs then move it to separate drive once data from such large size folder is available externally, I would exclude that or even those folders using "cpbackup-exclude.conf" this would still get me a working cpanel backup (ofcourse without that 100GB data folder) but will include mails accounts, databases, all other stuff from the account and that package file can be easily restored on a new server then the large folder can be take care of. problem started when developers kept on making sub-domains instead of sub-accounts (distinctive cpanel users) now over the years this has turned into big problem. 0
