With one client I keep getting e-mail bounces, both when WHMCS is sending and when i am sending trough outlook. I changed the actual domainname to domain below but the message looks likes this, it gives me no clue why it would need authenication as I have checked that box in outlook for outgoing e-mail. We also did add a reverse hostname or whatever it's called because that caused some bounces before.
Any clues?
Thank you

Hello :) Are you able to reproduce the issue with a webmail client such as Roundcube? Thank you. 0 -
Hello Michael, When trying to send using Squirrelmail I instantly get the same error message and bounce. Thank you 0 -
Could you let us know the output to /var/log/exim_mainlog when this happens? Is the domain name in the /etc/localdomains file on this system? Thank you. 0 -
Hello, It's not on localdomains as it's a remote domain or at least not on my server. If you mean the sending domain, yes that is in that file. This is what i found in the exim_mainlog, i again changed the actual domain with "domain.nl" and my own domain with "mydomain.nl" Thank you 2015-12-04 20:59:25 1a4wVp-0005ig-7r SMTP connection outbound 1449259165 1a4wVp-0005ig-7r mydomain.nl info@domain.nl 2015-12-04 20:59:25 1a4wVp-0005ig-7r [185.13.227.157] SSL verify error: depth=0 error=self signed certificate cert=/C=GB/ST=Someprovince/L=Sometown/O=none/OU=none/CN=localhost/emailAddress=webaster@localhost 2015-12-04 20:59:25 1a4wVp-0005ig-7r [185.13.227.157] SSL verify error: certificate name mismatch: "/C=GB/ST=Someprovince/L=Sometown/O=none/OU=none/CN=localhost/emailAddress=webaster@localhost" 2015-12-04 20:59:25 1a4wVp-0005ig-7r ** info@domain.nl R=dkim_lookuphost T=dkim_remote_smtp H=mail.domain.nl [185.13.227.157] X=TLSv1.2:DHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384:256 CV=no: SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:: 550 authentication required 0 -
Can you reproduce the issue when sending email to other mail servers, such as Google or Hotmail? Thank you. 0 -
Hello, No so far this is the only one showing the issue but I don't send that much mail. Thank you 0 -
You will need to consult with the administrator of the remote mail server, as it's likely an issue specific to that server since it's the only one blocking your messages with that error message. Thank you. 0
