Enabling Email Forwarding
I just transferred one of my websites from one hosting account (X) to another (Y). Everything including the website data, email, DNS are working fine.
The only and a major problem is that there is no option to forward emails in Y. I need emails forwarded to my Gmail account but the support staff of Y is claiming that this facility doesn't exist for any shared server. But they had this facility a few months back as my other websites on Y which were hosted 2-3 years back still have email forwarding working.
So the assertion of support staff of email forwarding not available on shared server is patently false and they have removed this feature to enable forwarding without providing any information or update whatsoever.
What are my options at this point ?

Creating Forwarders is a standard tool in cPanel. They could have removed it from the Features list your account uses, thats up to them. Forwarding email to gmail can get the server's IP rate limited or even blocked in some cases though. Forwarding email is not scanned, its just forwarded. So, all spam is forwarded as well as valid email. Your host may be thinking of this. You can properly use gmail for your domain email, but its not free: Gmail for work - Get custom email and more - Google cPanel MX records - Google Apps Administrator Help 0 -

Important: The primary concern is that SPAM may be sent to your email address, and then forwarded to the remote mail server. This may result in the remote mail server blocking the server your website is hosted on One alternative that some users implement is to create the email account, and ensure SpamAssassin is enabled for the account. Then setup the forwarder. This will ensure forwarded email is checked by SpamAssassin before it"s forwarded.

Hello :) This is an older forum post. The following options are now available under the "Apache SpamAssassin" tab in "WHM Home >> Service Configuration >> Exim Configuration Manager": Do not forward mail to external recipients if it matches the Apache SpamAssassin" internal spam_score setting Do not forward mail to external recipients based on the defined Apache SpamAssassin" score Documentation on these options is found at: Exim Configuration Manager - Basic Editor - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you.0
