DNS Cluster Question
We are toying around with setting up a DNS cluster 2 different ways.
1. Setup a master cpanel VPS with a full license to add new entries etc.. setup multiple free DNS cluster VPS in different locations to mirror the master in case it goes down.
2. Setup a master cpanel VPS with full license and put full license on all other DNS cluster servers and push changes to each other.
Advantage of #1 is price.
Advantage of #2 is if one goes down you still have a GUI interface to add new entries that will be mirrored by any remaining DNS servers that are still live.
I believe with #2 it is as simple as setting them all up with "synchronize changes" and "Setup Reverse Trust Relationship" and they just work.
I am not as clear with option 1 and what settings to setup on each and how to know whether they are working or not.. etc... With #2 you can login to the box and see the new record created but there is not a gui for #1 on the dns only cpanel for the dns zones.
Any suggestions or advice on the best route and how this would work?
Thanks!

put full license on all other DNS cluster servers and push changes to each other.
You can't use a license like this. cPanel DNS Only is a free product. cPanel DNSONLY - Documentation - cPanel Documentation0
