error when creating email account with zero as the address
I had a email account with zero as address like "0@domain.com" and I removed the account and but when I try to re-create it I get following error:
"Sorry, the given email address is invalid."
-
Did you remove the directory for it some other way or remove the email account normally from Email Accounts page? I am able to create, then delete, then recreate an 0@ email account over and over. (I tried to duplicate this twice) What version of cPanel are you running? 0 -
My customer has removed the account by clicking the 'Delete' link from 'Email Accounts' page without getting any error message. I checked /home/[account]/mail
and /home/[account]/mail/[account]/
directories and couldn't find the directory for that email account. I have also tried to create an 0@ email address on another account on the same server but got the same result. Using/scripts/addpop 0@domain.com password
has failed too. Cpanel version is: 11.52.1 (build 3)0 -
Are you able to create it from within cPanel? 0 -

No I cannot. I get the error both from terminal and cpanel. the error from "/scripts/addpop"
Sorry, the given email address is invalid. Sorry, the given email address is invalid. Email account creation failed (256)
the error from cPanel: Error Sorry, the given email address is invalid.

Please attach images to your posts. In the image your email account is '0' Unless thats a typo from you staging the image, you can't have it like that. It must be: 0 0 -

when using quotation (double or single) I get following error on a popup box: Account Name That is not a valid email address.
so using quotation is apparently not allowed but when trying without quotation (first thing I did) I get an error just like the image on previous post which seems to be a bug. (so actually the zero with quotation on previous image is entered into the textbox after I got the error when I tried without the quotation)0 -
Switch to Paper Lantern style and see if adding the email account normally, sans any quotes, works for you. For troubleshooting reasons of course. :) 0 -

Same result with 'paper lantern' style and no quotes0 -
Please feel free to open a ticket directly to cPanel Technical Support about this. 0 -
Hello :) I am happy to see the issue is now resolved. To note, here's the relevant entry in the change log: Fixed case CPANEL-2443: Allow ability to create email addresses with "0" as the local part. Thank you. 0
