Implementing a DNS cluster
Hi there,
What's the best way to implement a DNS cluster when there already is an established server?
Our current set up is:
domain.com
64.xx.xx.xx (cPanel sites)
server.domain.com 64.xx.xx.xx
ns1.domain.com 64.xx.xx.xx
ns2.domain.com 64.xx.xx.xx
To my understanding, I should create a new host name, sync the cluster then change the name server addresses? Similar to my explanation below?
domain.com
64.xx.xx.xx (cPanel sites)
101.xx.xx.xx (DNS)
server.domain.com 64.xx.xx.xx
dns.domain.com 101.xx.xx.xx
ns1.domain.com 64.xx.xx.xx
ns2.domain.com 64.xx.xx.xx
then sync cluster, then perform the changes
domain.com
64.xx.xx.xx (cPanel sites)
101.xx.xx.xx (DNS)
server.domain.com 64.xx.xx.xx
dns.domain.com 101.xx.xx.xx
ns1.domain.com 101.xx.xx.xx
ns2.domain.com 101.xx.xx.xx
I do apologies, but will appreciate the support.

Hello :) There's no need to change the hostname of the server. Are you adding one or two DNS-Only servers to the cluster? Thank you. 0 -

You can simply follow the guide at: Guide to DNS Cluster Configurations - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0
