RSA Key: an easy question
Good morning
I'm going go to disable root authentication for SSH for my cPanel server.
I have a company that help help me to manage some issue on my server.
The question: what RSA key I must give to that company or what RSA key I must ask from that company in order to allow them access SSH to my server?
I asked them and they replied "you need to add the public key details in our client database so that we could login to your server with key access in future" and "you can provide the SSH public key of your server so that we could update in our client info", but I'm not sure this is the proper way.
Sorry for my English and thank you

Hello :) Yes, you can authorize their public key for SSH access. The private key remains private on their system. Documentation on key authorization is available at: Manage root's SSH Keys - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0 -
Hello! thank you very much for replying. Please, what I must give them and/or what they must give me in order to grant them access to my server using RSA Key? Thank you 0 -
They will need to provide you with their public key. You do not have to provide them with anything other than your server's IP address and SSH port. Ensure you review the document in my previous response for information on how to authorize their key. Thank you. 0 -
