Backups slowing down entire server

I currently run daily, weekly and monthly backups to the local SSD drive, compressed and then sent over to AWS S3 for storage and then removed from local SSD drive. However, this takes over 15 hours and the server is noticeably slower during this period. So for the majority of the day, the server runs slow. This is using the built in new cPanel backup script. I need to speed this up. Are there any third party scripts that are more efficient and would be better for the server usage? Thanks

  Hello :) I'm not aware of any third-party applications that will make the process faster, but you may want to look into R1Soft to see if that type of solution would help.   Have you considered incremental tar/rsync backups ? How much files / storage you are backing up ?
