Moving Domain on DNS Cluster With External DNS Issue
Not sure where to put this. I'll try to explain it as simple as possible:
If my DNS cluster is authoritative for a domain that is on ServerA, but for whatever reason the website is hosted elsewhere (with the @ and www A records set to the external IP) and I move the domain to ServerB, what -should- happen?
Any instances of the old hosting IP should be updated to the new IP, right? But it also changes the @ and www records to the new IP, even though they didn't match the old hosting IP.
I'm guessing it's not all that common, but for any domain that we manage we use our nameservers and email, in most cases, but occasionally have a situation where we have to use, say, a separate Windows server for a website here and there.
This makes it uneasy to migrate accounts between servers in a cluster -- which is the whole point of using a DNS cluster with cPanel -- because now you have to go through each domain and make sure nothing was pointing to an outside server.

Hello :) Transfers should maintain the external IP address in the DNS Zone on the destination server. Could you open a support ticket using the link in my signature if this is not happening so we can take a closer look? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0 -
