Best configuration

I searched the forums, web, read the documentation and couldn't find a clear answer regarding this issue. I have a VPS with cPanel installed ( 4 GB RAM Burst, 2 GB RAM Guaranteed, 4 CPU core 2,1 Ghz, 75 GB SSD ) and I was wondering what is the best configuration for apache for speed and security. I tried fastcgi, DSO and several other configurations but I am not sure what to keep.

  Configuration totally depends which & how many websites are you planning to host on your VPS. If you could give a rough idea, it will help to suggest you with appropriate options.

  Well as I can add more resources to the VPS the number of websites that I could host increases. Now I have ~20 websites hosted and I don't think it would pass 50 any time soon.
