Moving EMail to new server
Hello,
I recently moved all my websites from a VPS to another VPS (different hosting company). I moved them manually, by recreating the entire database structure. Obviously, I have different, better structured, CPanel accounts. I recreated all my necessary email accounts (as some were old and unused) and everything else that was needed. From the old VPS I basically just downloaded the source of the websites.
As I like stop paying for the old, now unused VPS, I have to move all my emails received on specific accounts. I tried the export method, but Webmail crashes as there are some Gigs of email. So, exporting the entire inbox, sent and 12 other folders for each account is not a solution.
How could I move / save for legal purposes all my EMails from the old Vps?
Would it help if I ask he hosting company to move all my files to a 3$ shared plan that it will never be live, just to have local access to the emails ?

Hello :) You could copy over the emails to the new server using a utility such as "rsync" or "scp". The following guide is intended for manual migrations, but it explains the paths where email data is stored: Manual migrations to cPanel from unsupported control panels Thank you. 0
