Amazon bucket naming convention
Greetings...
When I create my backup configuration on cPanel and get to the "Bucket" field for the "Destination for Amazon S3"" settings, I get the following warning after entering my bucket name...
X A bucket name cannot include a period.
However... the naming conventions for Amazon S3 state...
"The bucket name can be between 3 and 63 characters long, and can contain only lower-case characters, numbers, periods, and dashes."
"They even provide examples such as "business-name.backups
Is this an error in cPanel's programming, or is this a conflict in that the Backup configuration programming in cPanel will not allow periods in that field?
I can work with either of course, I am just wondering if the conflict is intentional or an error.
Thanks.

I have just discovered that there is apparently a case possibly already open on this... 92993. It is mentioned in this post... How to configure Amazon S3 backups in WHM 0 -
Hello :) Periods are disallowed in bucket names when configuring backups in Web Host Manager. This is by design in order to prevent issues such as SSL validation failures. Thank you. 0
