Preventing changes of mailhelo
Hi
I am sending my emails through several dedicated IPs.
I had to edit /etc/mailhelo to change helo to be the same as my hostname.
But
Everytime the cPanel updates or upgrades this file resets to default.
Can I prevent changes to mailhelo?

Hello :) Have you enabled the "Send mail from account's dedicated IP address" option in the Exim Configuration Manager? If so, keep in mind it will overwrite any changes that you make in the Exim configuration files. This is documented at: How to Configure Exim's Outgoing IP Address - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0 -
Are you suggesting me to disable option "Send mail from account's dedicated IP address"? If I manually change those files, what happens after the upgrade? Reseting to default or files staying intact? 0 -
Yes, per the document in my last response, regarding the "Send mail from account's dedicated IP address" option: f you select this option, cPanel & WHM uses the /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/updateuserdomains script to automatically configure Exim, and overrides any manual changes in the following files: /etc/mailhelo /etc/mailips /etc/mail_reverse_dns
Thus, disabling this option ensures you can manually alter these files and the changes are not overwritten after enabling: Reference /etc/mailhelo for outgoing SMTP HELO Reference /etc/mailips for outgoing SMTP connections Thank you.0
