Mail delivery to remote MX when account suspended.
Hello,
I have a client who is currently suspended within WHM due to non payment of their account.
What I have noticed is that when mail is sent from our system to the client, delivery of the email is confirmed in the exim_mainlog. The client uses a remote mailserver for mail delivery and we have an MX record set-up locally in DNS.
Clearly DNS is unaffected when an account suspension takes place. Is this normal?
Because of the way we treat accounts and billing we'd be better positioned if all services were rendered unavailable including DNS, mercenary perhaps, but we feel this is appropriate for our business model.
Is there a way to prevent access to DNS entries for an account that is suspended without modifying DNS manually?
Thanks.

Hello :) DNS is not disabled for domain names that have been suspended. Here's a document that explains what happens during account suspension: What Happens When You Suspend an Account - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation As a workaround, you could move the zone file out of the way and rebuild the DNS configuration file. EX:mv /var/named/$domain.com.db /root/$domain.com.db /scripts/rebuilddnsconfig
Feel free to open a feature request if you want an option to disable DNS at suspension time: Submit A Feature Request Thank you.0
