How to install php 5.2.x as default PHP

Hi guys, I'm trying to migrate some old Centos 5 based cPanels, to a newer Centos 7 based machines. There is one requirement I must achieve - to preserve the default PHP version to be 5.2.X. I see that in recent EA versions, there is no more option for PHP 5.2.x to be installed as a system-wide default version. Could you suggest any effective method of using default php 5.2.x with the newer cPanel/EA versions ? Thanks in advance.

  Hi, You won't find PHP 5.2 provided by cPanel unfortunately. This is an extremely old PHP version, and it's almost a disservice to offer this vulnerable PHP version to end users. If you really do need PHP 5.2, I'd recommend checking out CloudLinux's Hardened PHP. They patch and backport security fixes into super old PHP versions, so this might be a good fit for your environment. CloudLinux - Main | New template

  Let say I'm able to install hardened version as an alternative version (for example in /usr/local/php5.2). What would be the right way of setting this version as default server-wide one ?

  Hi, This is super custom, and not something we'd provide support on getting done. However, there are tons of guides on the internet for getting this done on a cPanel system. For example: WebHostRepo Blog - Running PHP 5.3 along with PHP 5.2.x in cPanel servers I hope this helps!

  Thanks cPJacob ! The suggested link, has some useful ideas, which I will use too. I'm going to setup this on my own, hope to work fine.
