Question about Editing DNS zone files
We were wondering if you should or should not be able to edit a zone files from whm on another box.
When we set up the DNS-only cluster, we initially sync'ed the zone files in wrong direction. Pulling records from the DNS-only servers to the cPanel servers. We have corrected this soon after but have orphaned zone files.
Excuse me if I've missed some documentation somewhere.
As a related question, should we remove these files.

Generally speaking, your web hosting server should be clustered directly to each of your nameservers in a write-only configuration. This means you should make zone changes on that hosting server and be able to sync it out to the cluster. While there are opinions on how this should be set up, what I described is the most efficient and secure one. This would mean, however, that you could not edit zones from servers that zone does not already exist on. 0 -
Hello :) Yes, as mentioned, it's generally a better idea to use direct links from a hosting server to a DNS-Only server instead of syncing each server to each other, as documented here: Guide to DNS Cluster Configurations - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0
