Event schedule issue
I just took the plunge and upgraded from MySQL 5.6 to MariaDB 10.0. The upgrade went smoothly. I tweaked a couple of settings in /etc/my.cnf, but when I restarted MySQL, I got the error above.
I used phpMyAdmin to run repair table on the mysql/event table, which was empty, and after that I could restart MySQL without any errors.
I have no idea why, but I thought it might help others. :)

Hi, Please post the error message which is getting while restarting the MySQL. 0 -
Sorry about that. I thought I had the error message as the title of the post. I don't know what happened there. The error message is: Event Scheduler: An error occurred when initializing system tables. Disabling the Event Scheduler. 0 -
Hello :) I am happy to see you were able to address the issue. Thank you for updating us with the outcome. 0 -
You're welcome. I just wish I knew why it worked. :) 0 -
There's a blog post here on the MariaDB website that references this error message and the potential causes: MySQL to MariaDB migration: handling privilege table differences when using mysqldump | MariaDB It's likely an issue that was isolated to your specific table. Thank you. 0 -
Thanks, Michael. I'm glad just running repair table fixed it. 0
