Questions about New Backup system vs Legacy Backups

Two questions on my mind today... 1) Looking for advice on moving from the Legacy Backup system to the New Backup system on a production server. I've read the docs and I believe it may be as simple as enabling the new system, configuring as needed, and making sure that "all" existing users are selected. Do all NEW users automatically get selected for the new backup, too? Any other advice or gotchas? 2) On a small dedicated cPanel server, I enabled the New Backup system running when the box was first brought online, as a way to learn more about it. One thing that is really perplexing me is the amount of space being used. For example, here are some "du -sch *" outputs: /backup 11G incremental 7.1G monthly 5.0G weekly 23G total /backup/incremental 7.9G accounts 4.0K cpmove 2.9G system 11G total /backup/weekly 16G incremental 16G total /backup/monthly 15G incremental 15G total Can someone please help me to understand what I am seeing here? When first entering the /backup directory, it said that weekly is 7.1GB and monthly is 5.0GB. But when I go into those directories, it's significantly higher. I'm sure I'm missing something easy here... - Scott

  Scott, Can you do the following commands one more time and send back # cd / # du -sch /backup/* # du -sch /backup/weekly/*

  Yes, it's as simple as you have pointed out. All new accounts are automatically enabled for backups as long as you have backups enabled.

  Please ensure you browse to the directories associated with the new backup system. These backups are stored in directories matching the date of the backup generation. Legacy backups are stored in the "daily" and "weekly" directories. Thank you.
