Third-party MySQL tools

I stumbled on a professsional blog forum yesterday and one particular discussion caught my attention. A lot of people in that industry are looking for third-party SQL tools, I.e other than PhpMyAdmin. The large webhosts do not offer anything but PhpMyAdmin as far as I can see. My question is are there any such tools that plug in with cPanel? If so why aren't they on offer? Are there too may security issues? Thanks. Peter.

  What do those tools offer that phpMyAdmin does not?
