Dynamic Subdomains Wildcard SSL
I have a similar problem to the one described here:
Dynamic Subdomain SSL Issue
I have a shared hosting bluehost account with dedicated IP and with 2 different certificates for 2 different domains
domain1.com Has had SSL certificate installed for a few months
domain2.com Just purchased and installed a wildcard SSL certificate. This domain is a WP Multisite installation with a wildcard name record that allows me to create a wordpress site with its own subdomain
Even though there's 2 different certificates on the same hosting account, they both seem to work separately. However they don't work for any of the subdomains of domain2.com but in a funny way what it does is whenever you try to access subdomain.domain2.com over HTTPS it redirects you to domain1.com
I've contacted bluehost support and they were just as confused as i was and just directed me to this page Wildcard SSL Certificates But changing my httaccess to those rules broke my site getting Internal Server error
I don't access to WHM or server configurations
I can supply the real domain names so you can see for yourself if required
Appreciate any help that you guys could provide

Hello :) Have you installed a separate IP address for the addon domain name? Instructions on this are found at: How to Assign Dedicated IP Addresses to Subdomains - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation However, your hosting provider would need to configure this for you if you do not have root access to the system. Thank you. 0 -
Hi Michael, It's on a shared account with 1 dedicated IP, can only have 1 dedicated IP per accont I forwarded this article to my hosting: Using Multiple SSL Certificates in Apache with One IP Address But they didn't know much about what to do 0 -
Hello :) Could you clarify if you are installing the wildcard SSL certificate for each individual subdomain? This is required, as each subdomain has it's own VirtualHost. Thank you. 0 -
It is a wildcard SSL certificate that says it covers domain2.com and any subdomains *.domain2.com 0 -

That's correct, however you must still install the same SSL certificate for each individual subdomain. For instance, try installing the wildcard SSL certificate for one of your specific subdomains and see if the issue persists for that particular subdomain. Thank you.0 -
I have the same issue and tried to install the same SSL but it will automatically pull the info of the previous installation, the one with *. so there is no way to input the subdomain name. 0 -

When installing the SSL certificate for the subdomain, you should first browse to the "SSL/TLS" option in cPanel. Then, click on the "Manage SSL Sites" option. Click on "Browse Certificates" and choose your wildcard certificate so that certificate data is populated in the open fields. Then, change the domain name field to the specific subdomain you are installing the wildcard certificate on and proceed to click on "Install Certificate". This process completed successfully on a test server. Thank you.0
