Encourage me to switch to cPanel
I've been using Plesk for many years however the tighter technical and support integration between cPanel, WHMCS and CloudLinux is appealing and given that LiteSpeed is officially supported.
It feels so difficult to change as Plesk is all I'm used to. Give me reasons to make the change and why cPanel is better :)

Where do I start... The quality of the product, the official support (which is free), the community, the features and ongoing development. You won't regret switching and the migration is pretty straightforward too. Why not give it a go and see for yourself - you can set up a server on a trial licence and test a migration of accounts over too. 0 -
Not to mention, we do offer free Migrations away from Plesk! 0 -
I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make the switch to cPanel, after doing some testing there are just too many things that Plesk does better unfortunately. For example: [LIST] - Extension/Plugin manager The ability to just click and install as apposed to installing extensions via command line is a big plus. [LIST]
- Backup manager The backup functionality in cPanel just seems half finished to me. A customer can make a full backup but unable to restore it themselves? Very strange. In Plesk you can make full server backups as admin, customers can then access just their section of that backup and either restore their full account themselves or individual components. [LIST]
- Server component manager This is another point, click and install feature in Plesk. Installing extra PHP versions, different email servers, nginx is just a couple of clicks away. [LIST]
- Disk quota In Plesk you have the ability to allow clients to go over their limit so you can set up overage billing. I'm guessing the only way to do this in cPanel is to give them unlimited? [LIST]
- Database management In order to import or export a database, use of phpMyAdmin is required in cPanel. Whilst you still have this functionality in Plesk, there are one-click buttons to accomplish both of these tasks in Plesk making it very easy for clients. [LIST]
- Integrated web apps Web applications are included by default, extra 3rd-party subscriptions aren't required. [LIST]
- DNS Management The interface to add new DNS information is much cleaner and can manage NS and SOA records from the customer interface. cPanel was enticing me with the tighter integration with WHMCS and the DNS cluster functionality but it just seems the above items are not as polished, especially the backup manager. I'm not sure which way to go haha. I was forgiving until I got to the backup functionality in cPanel. Edit: How do I include all accounts in the full server backup by default? 2nd Edit: I'll probably just bite the bullet, the majority of the web hosting industry can't be wrong I suppose :)

Hello :) Thank you for taking the time to offer feedback on the product. I'd like to point out that while some of the features you mentioned are not currently offered, we provide a feature request system where users can submit their ideas: Submit A Feature Request This is another point, click and install feature in Plesk. Installing extra PHP versions, different email servers, nginx is just a couple of clicks away.
The ability to quickly install and update Apache/PHP and their modules is improved with EasyApache 4, which is currently in beta. There's a document here that explains the changes and improvements: Introduction to EasyApache 4 - EasyApache 4 - cPanel DocumentationIn Plesk you have the ability to allow clients to go over their limit so you can set up overage billing. I'm guessing the only way to do this in cPanel is to give them unlimited?
Yes, overselling is a feature available to resellers, and explained at: What is Overselling? - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation However, you would have to set quota values to unlimited if you want to allow end-users the ability to use as much space as they need.[LIST]
- Database management In order to import or export a database, use of phpMyAdmin is required in cPanel. Whilst you still have this functionality in Plesk, there are one-click buttons to accomplish both of these tasks in Plesk making it very easy for clients.
You can also backup and restore databases via the "Backup Wizard" option in cPanel: Backup Wizard - Documentation - cPanel DocumentationEdit: How do I include all accounts in the full server backup by default?
New accounts are automatically added to the list of users to backup after you have enabled backups on the system, and you can enable backups for existing users with the "Backup User Selection" tool in Web Host Manager: Backup User Selection - Documentation - cPanel DocumentationThe backup functionality in cPanel just seems half finished to me. A customer can make a full backup but unable to restore it themselves? Very strange. In Plesk you can make full server backups as admin, customers can then access just their section of that backup and either restore their full account themselves or individual components.
Allowing non-root users to restore a backup is a security concern, thus it's not offered as of now. However, we do have a feature request here that you can vote for and add feedback to: Ability to restore parts of full backups through the cPanel interface Thank you.0
