Immutable flag on /quota.user for CentOS 7 cPanel servers
Hi,
Is it normal for CentOS 7 cPanel servers to set the immutable flag on /quota.user? Whenever I try to change the immutable flag, I get the following:
root@cp [~]# chattr -i /quota.user
chattr: Operation not permitted while setting flags on /quota.user
But if I run /scripts/fixquotas, the following appears in the output
Updating Quota Files......
quotacheck: Scanning /dev/root [/] quotacheck: Old group file name could not been determined. Usage will not be subtracted.
quotacheck: Checked 22809 directories and 167268 files
quotacheck: Quota file //quota.user has IMMUTABLE flag set. Clearing.
done
....Done
The only reason I ask is that there have been occasions the quota hasn't been updated in a while and running the above script fixes it.
Thanks,
Martyn

Hello :) Could you verify which filesystem type is utilized for your root directory? EX: df -T
We recommend using the XFS or ext4 filesystems with CentOS 7. Thank you.0
