I am still learning cPanel, how do I enable clients to be able to use over their allocated disk space quota?

Hello :) Individual accounts are not allowed to exceed their disk space quota. Are you referring to the "overselling" aspect of a reseller account? If so, that is documented at: What is Overselling? - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you.

Hi @cPanelMichael Ahhh I see. Nah I would like clients to be able to use over their disk space allowance as I will be charging overage fees from WHMCS. Would I need to set the accounts to unlimited within cPanel?

Yes, disk space usage is still reported when quotas are set to unlimited values. This would allow you to charge based on usage. Thank you.

Hi @cPanelMichael Thank you for the reply. I think setting the packages within cPanel to unlimited would suit me better as I don't want my clients websites and/or email to stop once they reach their quota. As they would be set to unlimited, cPanel wouldn't send disk space usage notifications. Do you know if it is possible to make WHMCS send usage notifications as they are approaching a particular disk space usage level?

I believe WHMCS offers this feature: Disk Space and Bandwidth Overage Billing - WHMCS Documentation You can always consult with their support forums at: WHMCS Forums Thank you.

I'm still having trouble with disk space allowances in plans. When I was using Plesk, I could set a plan to a particular disk space allowance such as 1GB but allow overuse, but WHMCS would then charge extra based on the overuse; this setup worked well. In cPanel, if I want users to be able to use over their allowance then I have to set them to unlimited which then I am unable to send users notifications when they are approaching the soft limit they have purchased (ie. 1GB). WHMCS doesn't appear to offer disk space usage notification support. Looks like people want the functionality however: Hosting Account Quota Notifications Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?

The only way to address this issue from cPanel's perspective is to add a new feature that allows users to exceed their disk space limit. This is not currently possible, but you can open a feature request for this via: Submit A Feature Request Otherwise, it's likely a good idea to seek out a solution from WHMCS: WHMCS Forums Thank you.
