Chkservd is currently suspended (/var/run/chkservd.suspend exists)
Hello,
is it normal to see these messages?
tail /var/log/chkservd.log
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/tailwatchd restart
I read that it is normal for chkservd to be suspended during cpanel udpate (upcp)
Chkservd is currently suspended (/var/run/chkservd.suspend exists), waiting 100 seconds

Hello :) 1. Yes, it's normal to see a suspended message for Chkservd during updates. 2. You are leaving out the "--" entry for the restart command. Please use the following command to restart the "tailwatchd" service: /scripts/restartsrv_tailwatchd
Or:/usr/local/cpanel/bin/tailwatchd --restart
Tailwatch is documented at: TailWatch - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thank you.0 -
THere seems to be problem. The last line that is not about Chkservd suspension is date: [2016-04-05 14:30:15 +0000] So it is 8 days since tailwatchd not doing its job? Please which commands to do to discover cause of this? PS: i already tried Yours mentioned restart script (/scripts/restartsrv_tailwatchd) but still only "Chkservd is currently suspended" messages in log. # tail -n 800 /usr/local/cpanel/logs/tailwatchd_log|grep -v INFO|grep -v Exim ... 2016-04-05 14:24:50 exim 4.86_1 daemon started: pid=29234, -q1h, listening for SMTP on port 25 (IPv6 and IPv4) port 587 (IPv6 and IPv4) and for SMTPS on port 465 (IPv6 and IPv4) exim restarted successfully. So it is 8 days since tailwatchd not doing its job?
Could you elaborate on this? For instance, what are you expecting to see in "/usr/local/cpanel/logs/tailwatchd_log" that's not there? Thank you.0 -
I expected file /var/log/chkservd.log will stop having only lines like: Chkservd is currently suspended (/var/run/chkservd.suspend exists), waiting 100 seconds 0 -
Could you open a support ticket using the link in my signature so we can take a closer look? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you. 0
