banner mistmatch error
Quick question. for the server. is it an issue to have my name servers as ns1.example.com and the name of example.com showing in the email banner?
Would that be why we get a banner mismatch even on server?
for example test emails in mxtoolbox for example.com
does the smtp banner is affected by different domain nameservers

Hello :) Could you let us know the specific warning message you are receiving? The most common warning from MXToolBox reported by users on the forums here is the SMTP reverse DNS banner warning, suggesting the IP address used for sending email does not have a RDNS entry pointed to the mail server name. Thank you. 0 -
We have 2 WHM Cpanel Servers. One hosts websites and their emails. The other hosts some email accounts for some of the sites on the other server. We are having issues with both servers. The server that hosts sites and emails is getting a SMTP Banner Check error. This is an example of one of the sites on the server (Network Tools: DNS,IP,Email) The server with just the emails is getting a SMTP Banner Check error and a SMTP Reverse DNS Mismatch error. This is an example of one of the sites emails tests on the server 0 -
The test you are using is suggesting the RDNS entry for the IP address matches the hostname of your mail server. Currently, it points to a different domain name. You can contact your data center to have them update the RDNS entry for the IP address of your mail server so it matches the hostname of the server. Thank you. 0
