Web Disk / Map Network Drive is extremely slow when I unzip a 1 meg file

How do I speed up the Unzip? Fresh Windows 7 install, but I think I'm missing something. I even used the "Create a Web Disk shortcut on your desktop:" script from inside the cPanel webdavaccessdownload.html page. Is because I'm not connecting VIA SSH - what do you think? Is there such thing as an "active" or "passive" mode for "Map Network Drive"

  Hello :) Is there a slow connection between your workstation and the cPanel server for any other services (e.g. SSH, FTP, Email)? If not, you may want to verify if this is an issue with your operating system.   Thank you very much. It's not a slow connection, I think it has to do with junky code on Win 7. I tried using Winzip, Winrar, 7-Zip and default Explorer Extraction methods and they are all slow. I can navigate very fast between the folder and even cut / cop paste files almost instantly. It just has to do with extraction a zip file in the folder. My bro said I was doing it all wrong, and I should be using SSH to send the decompress command to my linux server. I stopped playing around with it and just said truck it. I was using a fresh Win 7 format too with all updates / patches. Your research I'm sure will help others in the future. Thanks again cPanelMichael!
