Hostname and nameservers
Hello. Quick question.
Server is setup and running. Now I want to tidy up.
I've got two IP's and nameservers are setup as ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com
For hostname I've just added host.domain.com but whenever I go to that I get that error message because its not https.
So I was going to use Cloudflare to make this okay but as I'm using mydomain.com for nameservers I can't use that. So I was going to use anotherdomain.com for hostname.
So my questions are:
1. is there a connection between hostname and nameservers that I must keep?
2. could I have host.anotherdomain.com as thehostname and is the hostname just used as the address for getting to WHM and then in email headers etc
3. so if i can do it, can i just set up the account for anotherdomain.com and then go into changehostanme and just add host.anotherdomain.com before going to cloudflare to set up the certificate?
i think i can do this - just looking for some expert advice / feedback / suggestion
cheers

There is no such connection between hostname and nameservers so you can update host.anotherdomain.com as the new hostname and install an SSL with difference services like cPanel/WHM/FTP/MAIL etc. 0 -
Hello :) There's no requirement to use the same domain name for your hostname and name servers. Here's some information from the "Change Hostname" interface in WHM: It is important to choose a hostname that you will not be using for any account. You should choose something that will be socially acceptable, as it will appear in all mail headers. Your hostname must be a FQDN. In English, a hostname should consist of a name and a domain name. All valid hostnames should have 2 dots in them. Hostnames should never begin with "www". Hostnames should also not begin with a digit, nor end with a hyphen ("-"). Thank you. 0
