New A Records After Creating New Account
Not sure if this is because of a cPanel update but I notice now when I create a new account the following A records are added automatically and just wondered if they are mandatory and if I should add them to the other existing accounts on my server?
CPanel 14400 IN A Txt=ip address
Webdisk 14400 IN A Txt=ip address
WHM 14400 IN A Txt=ip address
Webmail 14400 IN A Txt=ip address

Hello :) This is by design as part of the proxy subdomains feature: Tweak Settings - Domains - Documentation - cPanel Documentation You can use the "/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/proxydomains" script to automatically add the entries for existing domain names: The /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/proxydomains Script - Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you. 0 -
Michael, so because I don't use a proxy but a dedicated server I shouldn't have to worry about these settings at all then?
The term "Proxy Subdomains" is referring to the feature that allows users to access cPanel & WHM services from standard HTTP ports, such as Port 80 and Port 443. This setting is useful if users cannot access the standard cPanel & WHM ports due to firewall restrictions. Thank you.0 -
Ah I see. I'll add them then. Thanks for that. 0
