MultiPHP vs. Cloudlinux PHP Selector
Hello,
i use Cloudlinux 7 and did yesterday the update to cPanel 11.56 and also did the installation of EasyApache 4 for Cloudlinux (Beta: EasyApache 4 released for CloudLinux)
i did: sh cloudlinux_ea3_to_ea4 --convert --mod_lsapi --altphp
i see now, that there is MultiPHP and also Cloudlinux PHP Selector running on the same system.
Which one should i use now? Should I deactivate some of them? If yes, which one and how?
Can you give me more details about future use of php selector? i heared it will be deprecated in future? is this right information?
Would be nice if you could help me out with this topic.

Hello :), At this time I would suggest you to use Cloudlinux PHP Selector because they are still working on EasyApache 4 to fix some issues which they are facing so it's better to use Cloudlinux php selector at this time. 0 -
Hello, okay and how can i deactivate the MultiPHP for my Clients? 0 -
Hello :) CloudLinux has published a document for this at: PHP Selector Integration with cPanel MultiPHP Manager Thank you. 0 -
Above link is broken. Were getting a few clients using both selectors and mixing up the configs, ie php 7 on cloudlinux selector and 5.6 on cPanels multiPHP manager. What's the advice here and does one setting take precedence over the other? 0 -
Fixed link. 0 -
I am a big fan of Cloudlinux and PHP Selector. I think it offers a simpler point and click interface than the cPanel Multi PHP selector, but possibly at the expense at the easy and advanced customization of the ini files. Personally, I have disabled the MultiPHP Manager and the MultiPHP INI Editor in my feature lists so that my clients only have access to the Cloudlinux controls. I think it is very much a matter of assessing your clients and their understanding and experience, and then deciding which feature set (or both) is going to be of most benefit to them and your business. 0 -
infopro, thanks for fixing the link. We had no idea PHP Selector is not compatible with PHP-FPM ! rpvw, Yes we prefer the CloudLinux php selector also, though I read on CL forums that cPanel's version will probably win the battle :( 0 -
I have been working with MultiPHP for a few weeks and other than a few little issues with some extensions which have now already been fixed, everything is great! 0
