aws server with cPanel running
Hi guys,
I have followed Rob Scott guide to set up cpanel & whm on AWS: How To: Set Up cPanel & WHM on Amazon Web Services robjscott.com/how-to-set-up-cpanel-whm-on-amazon-web-services. Please see the steps I have followed, I have come to dead end and not sure how to get my sites running on the server.
1. VPC set up on AWS
2. Security groups created
3. Instance created and started
4. Elastic IP set up done
5. Created hosted zone
6. Set name servers to AWS with domain registrar
7. Installed cpanel and able to login.
My DNS records should point to my new server on AWS to make this reachable correct?

Thank you @Infopro. Think I might have the wrong end of the stick here. I am just trying out cPanel to see how it works on server I am running on AWS. From what I can gather here this guide wants me to configure in cluster environment. Is it possible to run cPanel/WHM just on 1 server? 0 -
Clustering comes in at the end of that. I would think if you don't need that part, skip it. I would only add that I've not tried it myself so, YMMV. There is a multi part blog on cPanel.com related to those docs I linked you to, here's part 1: Part 1: How I Built a cPanel Hosting Environment on Amazon AWS | cPanel Blog Reading thru that might be of some use to you as well. You can search the blog for simply: AWS, to find the other parts of that blog post. 0 -
Hello, You can also use the official cPanel & WHM AMI for Amazon Linux at: cPanel & WHM: The Hosting Platform of Choice on AWS Marketplace Note that currently it's only offered for cPanel version 11.52, so you will need to update to cPanel 56 after installing the image. More information on using an Amazon Linux AMI is available at: Amazon Linux - Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud Thank you. 0
