Dns Admin failing
For a while now I have had dns admin restarting at night. Sometimes just once, sometimes several times in a row. Any ideas why would this be happening?
It only started occurring when I tried to do an SDF record on a domain.
Thanks

Hello, Are you sure it's not entering and exiting out of dormant mode? There's a similar thread where that's explained: Can't disable dnsadmin since 2016 Apr auto-update Thank you. 0 -
Thanks for the article. I get emailed sometimes 3 or 4 a night stating that DNS admin failed, then recovered. Any ideas why that is. 0 -
Is this email coming from cPanel or a third-party monitoring application? Thank you. 0 -
The email is coming from the monitoring service of the service. So i am getting emails saying DNS admin failed from cpanel . Then getting an email that it recovered. 0 -
Could you provide an example of one of these messages, including the message header, and ensuring to remove real domain names or IP addresses? Thank you. 0 -

Hello, CPANEL-5543 was released as part of cPanel 56.0.3: Fixed case CPANEL-5543: Dnsadmin dormant generates authkeys on startup. Also, please note the following output in the notification: The chkservd process attempts to connect to "127.0.0.1:/var/cpanel/dnsadmin/sock" in order to validate that this service is functioning. If you blocked connections with iptables or the "Host Access Control" interface in WHM, this failure may be a false positive.
Would you mind opening a support ticket so we can take a closer look if you are not blocking connections to localhost via your firewall or Host Access Control? You can post the ticket number here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you.0 -
Hello, I've not seen additional feedback to this thread or reference to an open support ticket. I'm marking this thread as resolved, however feel free to let us know if the issue continues. Thank you. 0
