How to customize cpanel icon name?

I want to change the icon text. I found it can be done by changing the "itemdesc" in /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern/dynamicui.conf file. However, after cpanel update, it's been reverted back. How to make the customization permanent? Thank you.

  Use the Bulk Locale editor in WHM to change the name. That change should persist across updates.

  Thanks. I've tested this, it works for paper_lantern but not x3. I can see my custom text in /var/cpanel/locale/themes/x3/en.cdb file, but it does not show in cpanel.
