What does the p0f process do?
I had a server overload last night from the p0f process. I killed it and the server seems to come back down now. Just wondering what this does, all I can find is it's a normal Cpanel process.

I think the thread The service "p0f" is now operational has all the info and links you might need :) 0 -
Thanks, any idea why it would overload? It seems to be doing it again now. 0 -

Hello, Internal case CPANEL-2092 is open to address instances where p0f uses large amounts of CPU, but we have yet to reproduce the issue on a test machine. Would you mind opening a support ticket and referencing this internal case so we can review the affected system and add notes to the case that might help our developers narrow down the cause of this problem? Thank you.0 -
Sure, I'll add one shortly. It's been going on for weeks. it's only on one of our VPS systems. 0
