Account specific database storage location
Hi there!
I just started using cPanel. I administrate a root server with 2x 512 GB NVMe SSDs and 2x 2 TB HDD built-in. I used this tutorial to mount and use the HDDs as /home2. OS & cPanel are located on the SDDs. Everything works fine thus far.
I would like to offer HDD & SDD hosting separatly. So is there a option to embed a /var2 location to relocate databases and mail queue also to the HDDs?
Thanks in advance.

Hello, Are you attempting to store databases and emails from specific accounts to a separate partition, or are you attempting to store all databases and the mail queue on on a separate hard drive? Thank you.0 -
Sorry for my late answer, we were busy with some other projects. Yes, from specific accounts. e.g.: SSD-account --> /home (user account) and /var (MySQL databases, configuration files, mail queue) HDD-account --> /home2 and /var2 /home and /var are located on the SSDs, /home2 and /var2 are located on the HDDs. So i'd like to separate these two account options. Otherwise the HDD-User, who paid just for average HDD-hosting, would benefit from databases located on faster SSD for free. Do you get my point? Thanks. 0 -
vision1234, could You share information about how you assign accounts on the directories /home and /home2? this happens automatically after the registration with the help of some additional script? 0 -
Hello, There's no native support for multiple storage directories on a per-account basis for data such as MySQL databases, or queued email. I suggest opening a feature request for this via: Submit A Feature Request Thank you. 0
