Hi Infopro, Here is the link for the redhat bug : Bug 1249426 " curl crashes with "Illegal instruction (core dumped)" at intel_aes_gcmINIT() In the link I was posted, there was exact solution for the problem (which in fact is added to a cPanel based servers) and also link to the bug report.

In the link I was posted

If you've got something to share with the forum post it here, on the forum. There's no need to send users to your site. Thanks.

I have already wrote the article and spent my time on it. Now I'm sharing it in order for other users to benefit of this. I don't find it reasonable to re-rewrite my article every time I want to post about it in some forum or social network. Given the fact that this issue is related to a lot of cpanel running servers and there is too little information on the net about this, I see it as really useful and helpful. It's up to you to delete this link, which is actually a fix for a problems, which are still not handled by cPanel itself. P.s Is there some restriction of posting links to external than forums.cpanel.net articles ? If this is true, I apologize.

Advertising and promotion is not permitted, that's correct. Please feel free to report security issues directly to cPanel, anytime: securityATcpanel.net Thanks

I don't think this is advertising or promotion, it is sharing a serious problem with given solution. I see a lot of external links in this forum, without being considered advertising or promotion. So it seems there are criteria for "advertising" or "promotion", where can I read which is considered such ? Also, could you send me the rules for posting in this forum (which I seem to violate), so I don't make mistakes in future ? P.S The reported issue is not about the "security" it is about malfunction of core functionality for accessing https urls (including YUM package manager). Also as a cPanel representative, I suppose you are able to report this whatever it needs to be reporeted (if you consider it needs to). Thanks.

Hello, I did report it earlier and found that cPanel is already aware of this. Forum Best Practices, Rules and Guidelines Guide To Opening An Effective Forums Thread If you'd like to share information and take part on these forums, please feel free to post on these forums. Linking to your site is promoting your site. Thanks!

Okay, my apologies then, this won't happen again. I'm glad your team is already aware of this. Thanks for your time.

Not to stir up the flames here, but copy paste would have worked fine if you wanted to share what you wrote. We appreciate all of you efforts to share what you have learned. :)

Well @tank, I have different opinion about this, and don't think I'm going to change my mind :) First, simple copy paste, won't be enough, I must go again through the formatting process .. Second, as I say before, I don't want to go and copy paste everywhere something I want to share, when I already have written it in a user friendly format. (Without matter if it is in my site, or some public one, it is there and ready to be read). Third, when I wrote for such problems, I often update the information/article multiple times, because I find new and new information. I can't imagine, that I will go to update every single forum, mail list or whatever community I post this thing in order to be up to date. And last, when someone shares something (which he struggled to get to) with "some community" and "the community" start arguing about the way of sharing, neglecting the fact something useful is shared, well....maybe those people doesn't deserve this sharing. It is strange to know that some people are more worried if somebody will eventually "promote" himself ( if this could be ever defined as super-commercial-promotion) rather than the actual knowledge/know-how that they may get "for free". It is good that most people doesn't bother with "self-promoting" or 'how much would somebody make by sharing something' type of questions, so really useful sites as stackoverflow or howtoforge or (another thousands of such sites) can exists. I have no flames to "stir", Infopro said this is "against the rules", I said "okay", the question is completed. Cheers.

Let's leave this thread go, gentlemen. The report was made here on these forums (not the best place for reporting issues properly), I passed along the information and was told a case is already open discussing the issue: CPANEL-6413 The link to the bug tracker at RH seems appropriate and is all that was needed here. Closing this thread out now. Thanks again.
