Assigning a dedicated IP question

Good morning I never assigned dedicated IP to an account. Today I tried to assign one for the first time. My questions are: 1) I must update account's DNS zone and replace all sharedIP --> dedicatedIP? 2) Assigning a dedicated IP means that http:/mywebsite.com is totally equivalent to http:/123.123.123.123 (assuming this is the dedicated IP)*? Thank you very much (* single slash used to avoid link translation)

  Once you assign dedicated IP from WHM, DNS update will be auto done. Yes will show same contain.

  Hello, Keep in mind this assumes the domain name uses name servers associated with the cPanel server at it's domain registrar. Thank you.
